Nollywood actress and filmmaker Teniola Aladese has shared insights into her personal life, revealing why she is currently not in a romantic relationship and explaining the standards she maintains when it comes to dating.'
Speaking during a recent interview, the actress disclosed that although she remains open to finding love, she is not seeing anyone at the moment.
According to her, relationships require careful consideration, and she believes it is important to approach them with clear expectations rather than rushing into commitments.
Aladese explained that she considers herself selective when choosing a partner, describing her approach as maintaining a healthy level of firmness. She believes that having standards should not be mistaken for being overly difficult but instead serves as a way of building meaningful and lasting relationships.
The actress also reflected on one of the personality traits she believes can become challenging in her love life. She admitted that she has a habit of analysing situations deeply, often paying close attention to conversations and actions.
While she sees this as part of her personality, she acknowledged that it can sometimes make relationships more complicated than they need to be.
Because of this, Aladese emphasized the importance of honest and open communication between partners. She believes discussing issues directly helps avoid misunderstandings and creates stronger emotional connections, making communication one of the qualities she values most in any relationship.
Beyond her thoughts on dating, the actress also shared light-hearted opinions about some of her colleagues in the entertainment industry.
She singled out fellow actress Bisola Aiyeola as one of the most dramatic celebrities she has worked with, describing her as someone whose lively personality makes her enjoyable to be around. Despite the playful remark, Aladese expressed deep admiration for Bisola, calling her one of her favourite people.
She also spoke about her favourite on-screen collaborations, revealing that while actor Uzor Arukwe was previously her preferred co-star, Taiye Arimoro has now become her top choice because of their chemistry in recent productions.
Aladese has built an impressive career in Nollywood both in front of and behind the camera. A graduate of Mass Communication from Covenant University, she began her journey in the film industry as a production coordinator before transitioning into acting.
Her breakthrough role in the television series Jemeji helped establish her as one of Nollywood's promising talents.
Since then, she has featured in several acclaimed productions, including Finding Hubby, Superstar, Christmas in Lagos, Something Like Gold, and The Legend of the Vagabond Queen of Lagos. In addition to acting, she has earned recognition as a producer and casting director, contributing to the growth of the Nigerian film industry through multiple creative roles.
