Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodi has criticised the late actress Temitope Osoba’s fiancé over his alleged treatment of her before her death.
Oshodi expressed her displeasure during a live video while discussing the circumstances surrounding Osoba’s final days and the relationship she reportedly had with the man.
The actress questioned why Osoba and her fiancé allegedly lived together for years without getting married, despite being in a relationship that was reportedly serious enough for them to share a home.
Oshodi also accused the man of abandoning Osoba after she allegedly experienced financial difficulties, suggesting that his attitude towards the actress changed after she was no longer financially comfortable.
She described the alleged treatment as unacceptable and questioned why the man remained with Osoba while she had money but allegedly asked her to leave when her financial situation changed.
“I think she had 30m or 20m in her account. When the money finished, you now said she should pack out and pretend as if you guys are not dating. What sort of pretence is that?” Oshodi said.
The actress also questioned the decision to remain in a relationship with Osoba despite allegedly being aware of her smoking habit.
According to Oshodi, Osoba reportedly lived with the man for about two years while struggling with smoking, yet he did not end the relationship during that period.
“She was with you smoking for 2 years, and you didn’t chase her when you noticed she was smoking,” she added.
Oshodi described the alleged conduct as cruel and referred to the man as “the devil” while expressing her anger over what she believed Osoba may have experienced during the relationship.
Her comments come amid increasing public attention surrounding the circumstances of Osoba’s death and the conflicting accounts that have emerged from people who were close to the actress.
Osoba died at the age of 40, prompting an outpouring of grief from colleagues, friends and fans across the Yoruba movie industry.
Following her death, questions have continued to surround her final movements, her health, her relationship with her fiancé and the events that preceded her death.
Osoba had previously battled breast cancer and underwent surgery during her treatment. However, her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has rejected suggestions that cancer complications were responsible for her death.
Onadeko claimed in an interview that he received a midnight phone call informing him that Osoba had died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State. He also denied allegations that he had access to funds raised for Osoba’s medical treatment or used her money for personal purposes.
Members of Osoba’s family have subsequently provided a different account of what happened before her death, further deepening public interest in the case.
Her maternal aunt, Pejuola Ogunesan, claimed that Osoba had expressed fears about dying on the day she eventually passed away. She also alleged that the actress made several accusations concerning her relationship with Onadeko before she became critically ill.
The conflicting accounts have left many questions unanswered, while the circumstances surrounding Osoba’s death have yet to be independently established.
Against this background, Oshodi’s criticism has added another voice to the growing public discussion about Osoba’s relationship and the treatment she allegedly received before her death.
However, the allegations made by Oshodi remain her account of the situation and have not been independently verified. Onadeko has previously denied several allegations concerning his relationship with Osoba and maintained that he supported her during her health challenges.
As tributes continue to pour in for the late actress, attention remains focused on understanding the events surrounding her final days and separating verified facts from claims and counterclaims.
Osoba’s death has therefore continued to generate conversations within the entertainment industry, particularly as colleagues and family members provide different perspectives on her life, relationship and final moments.
