Singer Peter Okoye has made fresh allegations against his twin brother, Paul Okoye, and their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, claiming he uncovered undisclosed royalty payments and financial transactions that were allegedly carried out without his knowledge during their time as Psquare.
The latest claims are part of Peter’s ongoing public account of the events that led to the breakdown of his relationship with his brothers, as he continues to share his side of the long-running family dispute.
According to the singer, his suspicions intensified when he attempted to obtain the bank statement of Northside Entertainment, the company that managed Psquare’s affairs during the group’s active years.
Peter alleged that he was shocked to discover that he had been removed as a signatory to the company’s bank account without his knowledge.
The revelation, he claimed, prompted him to begin making further inquiries into the company’s financial records.
According to Peter, those investigations allegedly uncovered royalty payments from music distribution and aggregation platforms that he said had been received and shared without his consent.
The singer questioned why he had never been informed about the existence of those payments despite being one-half of the music group.
He argued that the discovery raised serious concerns about how Psquare’s finances had allegedly been managed over the years.
Peter further alleged that after Psquare split in 2017, royalty payments originally meant for Northside Entertainment were diverted to another company known as Northside Music.
According to him, documents he later obtained showed that over 1.2 million US dollars in royalties was allegedly paid into the new company’s account between 2017 and 2023.
He maintained that he neither approved the arrangement nor had prior knowledge that such payments were being made.
The singer said the alleged discovery left him feeling betrayed, insisting that transparency should have existed among family members who built one of Africa’s biggest music brands together.
Peter also questioned repeated suggestions that money should not be a source of disagreement within the family.
According to him, if financial matters were truly insignificant, there would have been no reason for anyone to allegedly withhold information about royalty earnings or manage funds without informing him.
The musician said he confronted Jude Okoye over the transactions after obtaining the documents but claimed he did not receive satisfactory explanations regarding the alleged payments.
Peter also revealed that he tried to convince Paul that something was wrong with the financial arrangement, but his efforts reportedly yielded no results.
According to him, his twin brother refused to believe there was any cause for concern despite the documents he had gathered.
Peter insisted that his decision to publicly discuss the issue was not motivated by bitterness or an intention to tarnish anyone’s reputation.
Instead, he said he wanted Nigerians and fans of Psquare to hear his own version of events after years of speculation surrounding the group’s repeated breakups and reconciliations.
The latest allegations come only days after Peter began releasing a series of posts detailing his strained relationship with his brothers.
In one of the earlier posts, he accused Paul of repeatedly attempting to undermine him and declared that he would no longer remain silent about issues that had affected him personally and professionally.
Peter also questioned the management structure that existed during Psquare’s active years.
He alleged that Paul had proposed a revenue-sharing formula in which the twins would each receive 35 per cent while Jude, who served as manager, would receive 30 per cent.
The singer asked why their elder brother insisted on remaining the group’s manager despite the fact that Psquare had previously worked successfully with other management teams.
His latest comments also follow the controversy surrounding his recent “Who Naija help?” remark, which attracted criticism from Nigerians on social media.
Although Peter later apologised for the statement, he alleged that Paul used the backlash as another opportunity to turn public opinion against him.
Neither Paul Okoye nor Jude Okoye has publicly responded to Peter’s latest allegations at the time of filing this report.
The dispute has once again renewed public interest in the internal affairs of one of Africa’s most successful music groups, with fans closely following every new revelation as the brothers continue to exchange claims over the management of Psquare’s finances and legacy.
