Nigerian skit maker and content creator Zicsaloma has advised people who have achieved financial stability to be more intentional about the relationships they maintain, particularly when friends or relatives begin to rely heavily on them for financial support.
The entertainer stressed that earning a good income does not automatically mean a person has unlimited money to distribute.
According to him, people who become financially successful still have personal responsibilities, future plans and other commitments that require careful management of their earnings.
Zicsaloma noted that financial success can sometimes change relationships. People who once related with someone without expecting anything in return may begin to approach the person frequently for assistance after discovering that the individual is doing well financially.
He warned that continuously meeting such demands can gradually become a burden, especially when the people receiving the money make little effort to improve their own financial situation.
The content creator explained that some individuals who repeatedly request financial assistance may not always use the money for important needs.
After spending what they receive, they may return shortly afterwards with another request, creating a pattern that can be difficult to break.
He therefore encouraged financially stable individuals to establish clear boundaries rather than allowing generosity to put their own financial wellbeing at risk.
Zicsaloma also emphasised the importance of understanding that legitimate earnings remain personal income.
He said people who work hard to make money should be able to decide how their resources are used instead of feeling pressured to meet every financial request from people around them.
He pointed out that people with growing incomes may have several priorities, including saving, investing, expanding businesses, handling emergencies and preparing for the future.
Constantly giving out money without considering these responsibilities could undermine the financial progress they have worked hard to achieve.
While he did not discourage people from helping others, the skit maker urged individuals to recognise when assistance becomes unhealthy or excessive.
He advised people to evaluate relationships where financial support has become the main reason for continued interaction. In his view, genuine friendship and family relationships should not be built entirely around the expectation that one person will continually provide money.
Zicsaloma’s message was essentially a call for financial discipline and healthy boundaries. He encouraged people who are becoming financially comfortable to protect their resources, while also being mindful of how they support those around them.
The entertainer maintained that helping others is valuable, but individuals should not sacrifice their own financial security in the process.
For him, learning to say no when necessary can be an important part of building and maintaining long-term financial stability.
