A lawyer, Synord, has questioned the decision to bring celebrity chef Hilda Baci into the growing dispute surrounding music executive Dapper and several Nigerian artistes.

The lawyer’s reaction came after Hilda Baci was mentioned in social media posts directed at Dapper, who has recently faced criticism from artistes including Shallipopi, Seyi Vibez and T.I Blaze over issues connected to their past dealings with him.

Synord argued that Hilda Baci should not be made part of the disagreement, particularly because, according to him, she is no longer in a relationship with the music executive.

“How did Hilda get dragged into this. From where to where. This is not appropriate at all. She's not even with him any longer. A very unfair tweet,” he wrote.

The comment comes amid a heated exchange online involving Dapper and artistes who have previously worked with his music business.

T.I Blaze recently accused Dapper of issues surrounding his music catalogue, contract and finances. The singer questioned the handling of his recordings and alleged that about ₦1.2 billion had gone unexplained.

He also claimed that his contract had expired and demanded the release of his catalogue, saying he had waited for the matter to be resolved privately before taking his concerns online.

Seyi Vibez subsequently joined the conversation, making several claims about his own experience with Dapper. In one of his posts, he referenced Hilda Baci while criticising the music executive.

It was that reference, among other comments circulating online, that appears to have prompted Synord’s response.

The lawyer’s argument is that whatever disagreement exists between Dapper and the artistes should be handled between the parties involved, without bringing a former partner into the matter.

Hilda Baci and Dapper have previously been publicly linked, with their relationship receiving considerable attention on social media. However, Synord specifically stated that the two are no longer together and questioned the relevance of bringing the chef into a dispute involving Dapper’s professional relationships.

The development has added another dimension to the online controversy, which began largely around music contracts, catalogue ownership, royalties and financial claims.

Dapper has been associated with a number of successful Nigerian artistes and projects over the years. Seyi Vibez and Shallipopi were among the notable names previously linked to his music business before moving on from their respective arrangements.

T.I Blaze also had a significant working relationship with Dapper Music, with releases such as his Shakur project carrying Dapper Music and Dvpper Digital credits. His recent allegations have brought renewed attention to how recording rights, distribution agreements and catalogue ownership are handled after an artist's relationship with a music company ends.

The financial claims made by the artistes remain allegations, and the full terms of their respective agreements have not been made public. The same applies to the specific figures mentioned in the ongoing social media exchanges.

Synord’s intervention, however, focuses on a different issue: whether Hilda Baci should have been mentioned at all.

By describing the reference to her as “a very unfair tweet,” the lawyer maintained that her personal relationship with Dapper should be separated from the business disagreements now playing out publicly.

The controversy continues to generate reactions online, but the central issues involving Dapper and the artistes remain unresolved. Any definitive account of the financial and contractual claims would require responses from the parties involved and supporting documentation.

For now, Synord’s position is clear: whatever the dispute between Dapper and the artistes, he believes Hilda Baci should be left out of it.
