Tanzanian music star Juma Jux has broken his silence following a social media controversy surrounding an allegation that he fathered a child with another woman.
The development has attracted considerable attention online, particularly because of Jux’s high-profile marriage to Nigerian actress and filmmaker Priscilla Ojo. Rather than engage in an extended exchange on social media, the singer has chosen to respond through a statement in which he strongly rejects the allegation and explains why he previously refused to give it publicity.
Jux said the issue is not new and had already come to his attention before its latest resurgence. According to him, he personally reached out to the woman at the centre of the claim in an attempt to understand the reason behind the earlier allegations.
He further stated that the woman denied having any romantic or sexual relationship with him and had previously advised him against giving the matter further attention.
However, with the allegation resurfacing and becoming increasingly associated with his name, Jux said he could no longer remain silent.
He explained that the controversy has gone beyond a personal matter because it now touches on his family, businesses and the reputation he has spent years building.
In his statement, Jux said:
“There have been reports circulating claiming that I am the father of someone's child. I have been following this matter calmly, without giving it the attention it does not deserve.
However, because the issue has now gone too far and continues to involve my name, my family, my businesses, and the reputation I have built over many years through hard work and dedication, I feel it is important to address it briefly.
This matter has come up before, and because I was certain that these claims were completely untrue, I took the step of contacting the person involved directly to understand why she had made the statements she made previously.
The person confirmed, in her own words and voice, that she had never had any sexual relationship with me or been romantically involved with me, and even asked me not to give the matter any attention.
Since these allegations have now resurfaced and taken a different direction, the matter is now in the hands of the legal authorities, and further action will be taken against the person involved.
I would also like to urge the media and members of the public to avoid spreading misleading information without first confirming that it is true.
I have built my name, my brand, and my businesses over many years through hard work, discipline, and dedication. Therefore, anyone who chooses to associate my name, my family, or my businesses with false allegations must be prepared to be held accountable according to the law.
As for me, I have chosen peace, truth, and the appropriate legal action.

The singer's decision to involve legal authorities signals a shift from simply ignoring the controversy to formally challenging what he describes as false claims.
His message also carries a broader warning to social media users and media platforms, urging them to exercise caution before repeating allegations that have not been independently verified.
For Jux, the issue appears to be as much about protecting his public image as it is about addressing the specific paternity claim. He emphasised that his name, family and businesses have been built over years of work, making him unwilling to allow what he considers false information to circulate without consequence.
The controversy has also drawn attention because of Jux's relationship with Priscilla Ojo, which has remained a major talking point among entertainment followers. The couple's public profile means developments involving either of them can quickly generate widespread discussion across social media.
For now, Jux has made his position clear: he denies the allegation, says he previously sought clarification directly from the person involved, and maintains that the matter is now being handled through legal channels.
