Nigerian comedian and actor Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, has reassured his fans that he is preparing to return to the entertainment scene after months away from the public eye.
The comedian’s absence followed reports that he sustained a gunshot injury while working on a comedy production in Ogun State earlier this year. The incident was said to have occurred around the Sango-Ota area in March, during the filming of a skit.
Following the reported incident, Broda Shaggi was taken to a hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos before reportedly being moved to another facility in Ikeja for additional treatment. Reports at the time indicated that he had suffered an injury to his thigh.
The circumstances surrounding the reported shooting, however, were not immediately clear. While the Lagos State Police Command confirmed that it had received information from the hospital where the comedian was initially treated, the Ogun State Police Command said it had not received an official report concerning the incident. The command subsequently said it would look into the matter.
Since then, Broda Shaggi has maintained a relatively low profile, prompting concerns and questions from fans who were accustomed to seeing his regular comedy content and entertainment activities.
Breaking his silence, the comedian recently used his WhatsApp channel to acknowledge the support he has received during his period away from the spotlight.
He expressed appreciation to fans who continued to check on him and remained supportive despite his prolonged absence.
While he did not provide details about what happened or disclose much about his recovery, he indicated that he was not yet prepared to discuss the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Broda Shaggi also gave his supporters something to look forward to, suggesting that his return to work could happen soon. He said he intends to return with renewed energy and make up for the time he has spent away from his creative activities.
