Social media personality GehGeh has questioned the way VeryDarkMan now relates with Davido, pointing to the support the singer previously showed him.
GehGeh made the point while comparing VeryDarkMan's relationship with Davido and Burna Boy to the respect he believes Wizkid has maintained around his own dealings with other people.
He wrote:
“Oga for this country we all need to study Wizkid.. Wizkid and self respect na 5&6
Davido and burna boy dr💦g this guy near body him later gather spit for him mouth pour am for Davido face. What a life
na burna boy remain. Shuu”.
The message was mainly about the change GehGeh sees in VeryDarkMan's relationship with Davido.
He pointed out that Davido and Burna Boy had previously brought VeryDarkMan close and supported him, but he believes the relationship with Davido has since taken a different turn.
That is what GehGeh appeared to find difficult to understand. In his view, someone who was once welcomed and supported by an artiste should not later turn around and treat that person with disrespect.
His reference to Wizkid was also part of the comparison. GehGeh described the singer's approach as one built around self-respect, writing:
“Wizkid and self respect na 5&6”
GehGeh then turned his attention back to Davido and Burna Boy, suggesting that Burna Boy could be the next person to fall out with VeryDarkMan.
The comments come against the backdrop of VeryDarkMan's increasingly outspoken relationship with Nigerian celebrities and public figures. He has often used his platforms to question people he believes have done something wrong, while also showing support to others when he agrees with their position.
His relationship with Davido has therefore become a subject of interest because the singer had previously shown him support. GehGeh's post focuses on that history, questioning how the relationship moved from closeness to open criticism.
There is also a wider point in GehGeh's comparison. He appears to be saying that support from influential people should come with a certain level of appreciation and respect, especially when those people have previously stood by you.
Rather than focusing on the details of every disagreement between VeryDarkMan and Davido, GehGeh's message was centred on the change he has noticed between them.
His mention of Burna Boy also noted that he believes the relationship between the activist and the singer could eventually face a similar situation.
