Veteran Nollywood actress and evangelist Eucharia Anunobi has made an emotional public appeal for financial support to help fellow actress Ngozi Nwosu complete her life-saving medical treatment.
The actress touched many worshippers during a recent church service when she went on her knees before the congregation, passionately pleading with Nigerians not to abandon one of Nollywood’s most respected screen legends in her time of need.
Her heartfelt appeal comes as Ngozi Nwosu continues to battle a serious health condition that requires three surgeries, with an estimated treatment cost of ₦30 million.
Emotional Appeal In Church
Speaking before members of the church, Anunobi reminded worshippers of Ngozi Nwosu’s immense contribution to the Nigerian entertainment industry, describing her as a woman who has spent decades bringing laughter, inspiration and memorable performances to millions of viewers.
The actress urged those present to extend the same love and kindness the veteran entertainer had shown audiences throughout her career.
“You know Ngozi Nwosu, she is down and she has to do surgery, three surgeries. She is in need of N30 million. I’m sure most of you have seen it on the internet,” she said.
Anunobi then knelt while continuing her appeal, asking Nigerians to support Nwosu through prayers and financial contributions.
“I’m using God to beg you. She has added joy to this nation. These are legends of acting, but she is getting older and sickness wants to take her life before her time.”
The emotional moment has since circulated widely on social media, where many Nigerians praised Anunobi’s compassion and willingness to publicly advocate for her colleague.
Ngozi Nwosu’s Health Battle
Earlier this month, Ngozi Nwosu revealed that she had been hospitalised and urgently needed three surgical procedures to save her life.
The actress appealed directly to Nigerians, explaining that the cost of the treatment had become too overwhelming for her and her family to handle alone.
Her appeal generated sympathy across the country, with colleagues, fans and well-wishers expressing concern about her condition and calling for support.
Nwosu also urged anyone willing to assist to contact her management team so the funds could be directed towards her treatment.
Alex Otti Donates ₦25 Million
One of the biggest responses to the appeal came from Alex Otti, who fulfilled his promise by paying ₦25 million directly to the hospital handling the actress’s treatment.
The generous donation significantly reduced the financial burden on the veteran actress and brought renewed hope that she would receive the medical care she urgently requires.
However, despite the substantial contribution, the treatment has not yet been fully funded.
According to updates from her management, an additional ₦5 million is still needed to cover the remaining medical expenses and ensure all three surgeries can be completed.

Before support began pouring in, Ngozi Nwosu had made an emotional plea that moved many Nigerians.
“Please, the thing has gone beyond my control. I need your help. Don’t let me die. I have like three surgeries to go through. Please, don’t let me die,” she said.
The appeal highlighted the difficult reality faced by many veteran entertainers who often struggle with medical expenses despite decades of service to the industry.
