Nollywood actress and African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in Abia State, Doris Ogala, has opened up about her private life, revealing that her marriage ended in 2022 after she experienced more than 10 miscarriages.

The actress made the revelation while speaking about her relationships, marriage and political ambitions during an appearance on The Clarity Zone podcast hosted by media personality Nedu Wazobia.

Ogala, who is currently single, became emotional while recounting some of the difficult experiences she went through in her personal life.

Ogala Opens Up About Her Relationship History

During the interview, Ogala was asked who would assume the role of Abia State’s “first man” if she wins the governorship election.

Responding to the question, the actress disclosed that she is currently not married and has no husband who would take on the role.

Ogala also revealed that she previously dated Pastor Chris Okafor, the founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, popularly known as Liberation City.

According to the actress, their relationship lasted from 2017 to 2019.

She explained that after the relationship ended, she went on to get married.

‘My Marriage Crashed In 2022’

Ogala said her marriage eventually collapsed in 2022, attributing the breakdown to the emotional strain she experienced after suffering multiple miscarriages.

She revealed that she had experienced more than 10 miscarriages, describing the experience as a deeply painful period in her life.

“I’m single now. I dated Pastor Chris Okafor from 2017 to 2019 and then I got married, but my marriage still crashed in 2022 because I had over 10 miscarriages,” she said.

The actress became emotional as she spoke about the experience, suggesting that the repeated pregnancy losses had a significant impact on her emotionally and personally.

Her revelation provides an insight into a difficult chapter of her life that she had previously kept largely private.

A Difficult Personal Experience

Multiple pregnancy losses can be emotionally challenging, and Ogala’s account highlights the difficulties she said she faced within her marriage during that period.

Rather than discussing the experience only in relation to her past relationships, the actress appeared to reflect on the broader emotional burden that came with repeatedly losing pregnancies.

Her disclosure has also sparked conversations about the pressures couples can face when dealing with difficult personal circumstances within marriage.

Ogala’s decision to speak about her experience publicly comes as she prepares for another major chapter of her life, this time in politics.

Ogala’s Political Ambitions

Beyond her entertainment career and personal life, Ogala also spoke about her involvement in Nigerian politics.

The actress revealed that she previously served as a Special Adviser before deciding to pursue a more prominent political position.

She is now seeking to become the governor of Abia State under the platform of the African Action Congress.

Her political ambition marks a significant transition from her career in Nollywood to public service and electoral politics.

If successful, Ogala would become the governor of Abia State, placing her in a position to influence policies and governance across the state.

Abia Governorship Race

Ogala’s candidacy comes as the state prepares for another governorship contest.

The incumbent governor, Alex Otti of the Labour Party, is also expected to seek another term in office.

Ogala’s campaign will therefore place her in a competitive political environment as she seeks to convince voters to support her vision for Abia State.

While her political ambitions represent a new phase of her public career, her recent disclosure about her marriage and pregnancy losses has also offered the public a more personal understanding of the woman behind the political candidate.

For Ogala, her journey from Nollywood to politics has been accompanied by significant personal challenges, including the loss of multiple pregnancies and the eventual end of her marriage.

Her account on the podcast shows another side of the actress and politician as she continues to navigate both her personal experiences and her ambition to lead Abia State.
