Peller has hit back at content creator Tunde Perry after Perry spoke about the relationship between the influencer and billionaire businessman King Ochacho.
The issue started after Ochacho continued to show strong support for Peller, including the reported N400 million house he recently gifted him. Ochacho has also promised to support Peller further and has asked him to help promote his son's music career.
Perry, however, questioned the idea that Peller's influence alone could turn Ochacho's son into a major music star. While acknowledging the businessman's generosity towards Peller, he pointed out that financial backing and publicity would only go so far.
According to Perry, Peller could certainly help the young musician reach a bigger audience because of the number of people who follow him. But he stressed that the young man would still need to prove himself musically.
Perry said:
“God bless you, King Ochacho, for supporting Peller, but only him can’t blow up your son. Your son has to be good in music too, and Peller will support him with his audience. Ochacho, me too I want money. Everyone sees you’re promoting your son with what you have. Don’t expect because you gifted Peller a house and money that your son will be the next Wizkid and Davido.”
The mention of the house and Ochacho's financial support did not sit well with Peller, who later addressed Perry directly.
Rather than getting into a long explanation about his relationship with Ochacho, Peller went straight to the point. He suggested that Perry should simply ask the businessman for whatever financial help he wanted instead of making comments that could affect the way Ochacho sees him.
Peller also made it clear that he did not appreciate what he considered an attempt to damage his reputation in front of Ochacho.
His response was:
“Tunde Perry! If you want to beg for money from Mr Ochacho, beg with your full chest and stop trying to spoil my name and reputation with him.”
The exchange has now placed the focus back on the relationship between Peller and Ochacho, particularly the businessman's decision to invest heavily in Peller while also looking to him for support in promoting his son's music.
For Peller, however, the issue appears to be less about whether Ochacho should spend money on his son's career and more about how other people speak about his relationship with the businessman.
Perry's original point was that money and promotion cannot replace musical talent, while Peller's response was directed at what he saw as Perry's approach to making that point.
At the centre of it all is Ochacho's plan to give his son a platform in the music industry, with Peller expected to use his audience and influence to help introduce the young artist to more people.
