Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo has shared a touching story about one of the most meaningful moments in his marriage, revealing that he once handed over the largest payment he had ever received in his acting career to his wife as a gesture of appreciation and trust.

Speaking during a recent interview, the screen legend explained that love goes beyond grand romantic gestures and expensive gifts.

 According to him, genuine commitment is demonstrated through sacrifice, trust and the willingness to share life's biggest blessings with one's partner.

The actor recalled receiving a ₦100 million cheque at the peak of his career. Rather than keeping the money for himself, he immediately decided it belonged in the hands of his wife.

 Although she initially wondered whether the funds were meant to be saved for their children, he insisted that the money was for her to use as she wished.

RMD noted that people's understanding of romance changes over time. While flowers, chocolates and lavish surprises may still have their place, he believes acts of generosity, loyalty and unwavering support often carry greater meaning in long-term relationships.

The celebrated actor also reflected on his recent 65th birthday, describing every new year of life as a gift he does not take for granted.

 He explained that losing both parents before they reached the age of 60 has shaped his outlook, making him appreciate every opportunity to celebrate another birthday.

Beyond his successful acting career, RMD attributed his youthful appearance and energy to maintaining healthy habits and cultivating a positive mindset. 

He encouraged people to focus on gratitude, wellness and meaningful relationships rather than dwelling on life's pressures.
