Fuji music legends Saheed Osupa and KS1 Malaika have achieved a remarkable milestone after being recognised by Guinness World Records for their contribution to a record-breaking Afrobeats orchestral performance in Lagos.

The historic achievement was confirmed by Guinness World Records, which announced that the concert featured the largest orchestra ever assembled for an Afrobeats performance.

The event, organised by Dapper Live & Artists, took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos on December 16, 2025, bringing together 85 musicians performing simultaneously under the guidance of a conductor.

The performance blended the energy of Afrobeats with the rich sounds of a full orchestra, creating a unique musical experience that also celebrated the influence of Fuji music.

Saheed Osupa and KS1 Malaika joined several contemporary stars to deliver an unforgettable show that highlighted the diversity and creativity of Nigeria's music industry.

Guinness World Records praised the production for successfully combining orchestral arrangements with Afrobeats, noting that the event included a lead vocalist, choir, dancers and a large orchestra performing in perfect harmony.

The organisation described the concert as an example of how traditional orchestral music can be fused with modern African sounds to create something extraordinary.

The record-breaking show featured performances from several notable artists, including T.I Blaze, Rybeena, Bhadboi OML, Kashcoming, TML Vibez, Lasmid, Heis Cazulee and Dwillsharmony. Their appearances, alongside Fuji icons Osupa and Malaika, showcased the wide range of talent shaping Nigeria's music scene.

Before the official recognition, Dapper Live & Artists had hinted that the attempt had been reviewed by Guinness World Records, expressing confidence that the performance met all requirements for certification.

The organisers described the project as a bold effort to unite different musical genres on one stage while presenting Afrobeats in a fresh and innovative way.

The recognition represents another major achievement for Nigeria's entertainment industry, which continues to gain international attention through music, film and cultural events.

Afrobeats has grown into a global phenomenon over the past decade, with Nigerian artists regularly topping international charts and performing at major venues worldwide.

For Saheed Osupa and KS1 Malaika, the honour adds another memorable chapter to careers that have helped shape Fuji music for decades.

Their involvement in the historic concert demonstrates how veteran musicians continue to influence new generations while embracing creative collaborations.

The Guinness World Records recognition is also a testament to the growing ambition of Nigerian event organisers and performers, proving that local productions can achieve global standards. The milestone is expected to inspire more innovative performances that celebrate African music and culture on the world stage.
