Nothing Has Changed Between Me and Funke Akindele – Kamo State

Popular Nigerian skit maker and actor Kamo State has put an end to growing speculation surrounding his relationship with award-winning actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele. 

Responding to rumours that the two entertainers are no longer close, he insisted that there has been no misunderstanding between them and that their relationship remains intact.

Speaking during a recent interview, Kamo State explained that many people have wrongly assumed they have fallen out simply because they are no longer seen together as frequently as they once were.

 According to him, the reality is much simpler both of them have become increasingly occupied with demanding work schedules, leaving little time for public appearances together.

The comedian recalled that his admiration for Funke Akindele began long before they met. He described her as someone he had always respected for her achievements in the Nigerian film industry and admitted that working alongside her was a dream come true. 

Their first meeting happened on the set of one of her productions, where he said she welcomed him warmly and treated him like family from the very beginning.

Kamo State revealed that the kindness and encouragement he received from the actress inspired him to affectionately refer to her as "Mummy," a name that has remained part of their relationship ever since. He credited her for creating a comfortable environment that allowed him to grow in confidence and develop professionally.

Addressing the rumours directly, he stressed that distance should not be mistaken for conflict. He noted that Funke Akindele has been heavily committed to her film projects, while he has also experienced significant growth in his own career, resulting in more acting roles, comedy performances, and personal engagements.

Despite their busy calendars, Kamo State maintained that they remain in regular contact and continue to support each other's ambitions. 

He expressed gratitude for the guidance and opportunities she has provided over the years, adding that she has consistently encouraged him to pursue greater success in the entertainment industry.

The entertainer also extended his appreciation to Funke Akindele for the positive impact she has had on his life and family. He described her as a generous and caring mentor whose support extends beyond the workplace.

His comments are expected to silence speculation surrounding their relationship, reassuring fans that there is no disagreement between the two. Instead, Kamo State emphasized that their bond has only grown stronger over time, even if their increasingly demanding careers mean they are not always seen together in public.
