Hours After Peter Defended His Children, Paul Okoye Shares Cryptic Message About Culture and Identity

Paul Okoye has gotten people talking after sharing a strong message about his Nigerian and Igbo identity, just hours after his twin brother, Peter Okoye, fired back at critics who questioned why his children do not speak a Nigerian indigenous language.

Although Paul did not mention Peter or the issue directly, the timing of his post caught the attention of fans, with many wondering if the singer was making a subtle statement about the importance of culture and native languages.

The conversation started after some social media users criticised Peter Okoye over his children’s inability to speak a Nigerian language. Responding to the comments, the singer made it clear that he was not comfortable with people judging his personal family decisions.

Peter questioned why some Nigerians were focusing on his children’s language skills when the country is dealing with several serious challenges.

"With everything going on in Nigeria, your biggest concern is whether my children speak Nigerian languages?" he wrote.

The singer said parents have the right to decide how they raise their children and questioned why strangers felt entitled to dictate what happens in his home.

He also challenged those criticising him, asking what they would gain from his children speaking Nigerian languages.

"When it's your turn, teach your own kids all the languages in Nigeria if that's your choice. As for me and my family, we're good. Go and find another place to pour your frustration," he added.

Peter ended his message with a simple warning to his critics: “MYB”  meaning “Mind Your Business.”

While some people supported Peter’s argument that parents should have the freedom to make choices for their families, others insisted that preserving Nigerian languages and culture is important, especially among younger generations.

Not long after Peter’s comments went viral, Paul Okoye shared posts celebrating his roots and highlighting the role culture and language play in shaping identity.

The singer wrote:

"I'm a 'nobody' I repeat!! a nobody!! without the culture, native, language, the pride, of a Nigerian 🫡🇳🇬100% proudly Nigerian 🇳🇬100% proudly Igbo 🫡"

He followed it up with another message:

"100% proudly Igbo 🫡100% proudly Nigerian 🇳🇬❤️ #musicallyrude 🎼🎙️ Stay blessed and alive 🙏".

Paul’s words immediately caught attention, especially because they came shortly after Peter’s response to critics. Some fans saw it as a possible indirect message about the value of holding on to one’s heritage, while others felt it was simply Paul expressing pride in where he comes from.

The reactions have also brought back discussions about the complicated relationship between the famous twins. Peter and Paul, who became household names as P-Square, have had several public disagreements over the years, leading to separations, reconciliations, and renewed speculation whenever either brother shares a cryptic message online.
