The arrest of street entertainer DJ Chicken has continued to generate discussion, and activist VeryDarkMan has now shared his thoughts on the situation, making it clear that while he understands why the authorities stepped in, he does not believe the entertainer posed any real danger.

DJ Chicken, whose real name is Ademola Abiodun, was arrested after a video surfaced in which he allegedly threatened Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu. In the now-deleted clip, he reportedly said that if Tinubu won the election, he would kill Seyi Tinubu. The statement quickly attracted the attention of law enforcement authorities, who treated it as a criminal matter. He was subsequently arrested in Lagos, and his lawyer later confirmed he was in police custody while appealing for understanding and forgiveness on his behalf.

Reacting to the development, VeryDarkMan said he could understand why the government decided not to overlook the incident. According to him, allowing such a statement to pass without consequences could create the impression that anyone is free to make threats against public figures without facing the law.

Sharing his opinion, he said:

“What does the government want to use Dj chicken to do, you go waste time say na Dj chicken you wan arrest, i understand the government because if you give Dj chicken a free pass someone will say worse tomorrow saying you will Unalive the president son is a criminal offense, it’s clear he did it for attention, he can’t hurt anybody, just mouth.”

Although the activist questioned the value of spending so much time pursuing DJ Chicken, he admitted that the authorities had little choice once such a statement was made publicly. In his view, the law cannot simply ignore threats directed at the President's son because doing so may encourage others to make even more dangerous comments in the future.

At the same time, VeryDarkMan insisted that he does not believe DJ Chicken had any genuine intention of carrying out the threat. He described the entertainer as someone who often says outrageous things to attract attention, arguing that the controversial video was another example of someone chasing relevance rather than planning violence.

For VeryDarkMan, the issue is about balancing two realities. On one hand, threatening the life of another person, especially someone under the protection of the state, is an allegation that security agencies are expected to take seriously. On the other hand, he believes DJ Chicken is known more for reckless talk than for actions, which is why he concluded that the entertainer is "just mouth."

As the legal process continues, DJ Chicken remains at the centre of the case, with the court expected to determine the next stage of the matter. Whether the case ends with prosecution or another outcome, VeryDarkMan's position is that while attention-seeking may have been the motive, the statement itself crossed a legal line that the authorities could not simply ignore.
