Less than 72hours after regaining his freedom, Nigerian entertainer DJ Chicken gave followers something new to talk about not through a lengthy statement or a video, but with a simple change on his Instagram page.
Anyone visiting the skit maker's profile would immediately notice that his display picture was no longer his own. Instead, it now featured Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu.
The unexpected update came shortly after DJ Chicken, whose real name is Ademola Abiodun, walked out of the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, where he had spent 11 days in custody. His detention followed allegations that he threatened Seyi Tinubu, a case that drew attention before his eventual release on Tuesday.
Rather than staying away from social media after the experience, DJ Chicken quickly became active again. His Instagram Stories were filled with posts centered on Seyi Tinubu, suggesting that he wanted to publicly acknowledge him after everything that had happened.
Among the posts was a photo of Seyi carrying the caption, "Hmm dddy," exactly as shared by the entertainer. He also uploaded videos showing Seyi dancing with his wife during a public event, continuing a series of posts that focused entirely on the president's son.
The social media activity came after DJ Chicken publicly expressed appreciation to Seyi Tinubu. According to the entertainer, Seyi stood by him during the legal issues that led to his detention, and he did not hesitate to acknowledge that support after regaining his freedom.
Although many expected DJ Chicken's first appearance online to be an explanation of his time in custody or a message to his fans, he chose a different path. Instead of revisiting the controversy surrounding his arrest, his attention remained on expressing gratitude in a way that was visible to anyone who visited his page.
