Nollywood actress Susan Peters has spoken further about the disappearance of her mobile phone, dismissing suggestions that the situation is staged and revealing that her biggest concern is not the device itself but the sensitive information stored on it.
The actress had earlier announced that she misplaced her iPhone 16 Pro Max during the Service of Songs organised in honour of late actor Alex Ekubo. Following her initial appeal, she explained that the device remained switched off and inaccessible, prompting concern that recovering it may become difficult.
At the time, Susan appealed to anyone who found or mistakenly took the phone to return it, stressing that the device was locked and could not be used without authorization.
Now providing an update on the situation, the actress disclosed that days after the incident, she remains emotionally affected because she had not recently backed up the contents of the device.
According to her, losing access to personal information, records and other digital materials stored on the phone has become more painful than the loss of the device itself.
Taking to social media, Susan expressed disappointment over reactions from some people who questioned whether her announcement was simply an attempt to attract attention.
She stated that the incident is real and has already begun affecting members of her family.
“Day 3, my heart is heavy,” she wrote.
The actress explained that her concern goes beyond replacing a phone because the information on the device may not easily be recovered.
“Not for the phone but for the information on it, and someone will send a message asking if it’s a prank!!”
Susan also revealed that suspicious attempts had allegedly been made to contact her through family members following her public appeal.
According to her, unknown persons reportedly reached out to her mother and sent messages containing links in connection with the missing phone.
She described the development as upsetting, especially at a time when she is already dealing with anxiety over the lost data.
“Now they have called mom and even sent her a link to send me via web line. And the phone is still off!” she added.
Addressing the prank speculation directly, Susan insisted there was nothing humorous or fabricated about the situation.
She noted that while she can replace the physical device, the digital information stored inside may not be easy to recover.
“It’s not a prank, FYI. The phone is gone, which can be replaced. My information on it is my pain.”
The actress further explained that she had not recently completed a cloud backup, making the loss feel even more devastating.
She admitted that if her files had been synchronized earlier, she would have been less worried because she could simply restore them.
Her latest update has drawn sympathy from followers and colleagues, with many encouraging her to secure her accounts and remain hopeful that the device may still be recovered.
The incident has also sparked conversations online about digital security and the importance of regularly backing up personal information.
For Susan Peters, however, the experience appears to have become more than a missing phone case—it has become an emotional reminder of how much of people’s lives are now stored in a single device.
