Nigerian streamer and social media personality Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has found himself at the center of controversy following a livestream that has drawn the attention of law enforcement authorities.

The content creator was reportedly invited by the police after participating in a broadcast during which he and several associates appeared in police-style uniforms while staging patrol-like activities on public roads in Lagos. The livestream, which quickly gained traction online, featured Peller alongside fellow creators Ojo, Smart BM, and Jo Blaq.

During the broadcast, the group was seen moving through parts of Lagos in a vehicle while engaging in activities that resembled routine police operations. Videos from the stream showed them stopping motorists, requesting vehicle documents, and carrying out what appeared to be mock inspections and searches.

The situation later attracted wider attention when the creators reportedly came into contact with actual security personnel. According to footage shared across social media platforms, the group encountered officers at a checkpoint and also interacted with a senior police officer. The exchanges reportedly became tense, leading to criticism from viewers who questioned the wisdom of the stunt.

Further clips from the livestream suggested that the situation escalated after a brief confrontation involving a soldier. Although no serious injuries or arrests were reported, the incident fueled discussions online about the growing trend of high-risk content creation among social media influencers seeking viral attention.

Reports indicate that music promoter Sam Larry stepped in during the unfolding events, allegedly contacting those involved in an effort to prevent the situation from deteriorating further. Security officials reportedly issued warnings to the creators before allowing them to leave.

Confirming the development on Tuesday, Peller disclosed that he had been invited by the authorities and was already at a police station. Speaking to his followers, he admitted that the broadcast did not go as planned.

“I didn’t have a successful stream at all yesterday. I’m currently at the police station now,” he said.

The incident has generated mixed reactions across social media. While some users defended the creators, describing the livestream as entertainment, others argued that activities involving police-style uniforms and simulated law enforcement operations should not be used for content creation.

Legal observers have also pointed out that Nigerian regulations place restrictions on the unauthorized use of police and military uniforms. Such laws are intended to prevent impersonation and protect members of the public from being misled by individuals who are not authorized security personnel.

As discussions continue online, many Nigerians are awaiting an official statement from the authorities regarding the outcome of the questioning and whether any further action will be taken. For now, the matter remains under review, with attention focused on the potential legal implications of the controversial livestream.
