Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator, Shank Comic, has stirred widespread conversation online after sharing his opinion on relationships, love, and infidelity during a recent interview.

His comments have since triggered mixed reactions across social media platforms, with many debating whether love and cheating can truly coexist in a romantic relationship.

Speaking during the interview, Shank Comic expressed his belief that it is possible for a man to genuinely love his partner and still engage in cheating behaviour.

According to him, emotional attachment and physical infidelity do not always cancel each other out in the mindset of some men.

He explained that in his view, men are sometimes able to separate emotions from actions. This, he suggested, allows them to maintain affection and care for their primary partner while still pursuing other romantic or sexual encounters outside the relationship.

When asked directly whether a man who truly loves his partner could still be unfaithful, he responded confidently, insisting that such situations are more common than people admit.

“Yes, ma’am. That’s just how it is,” he said, maintaining that the reality of relationships does not always align with ideal expectations.

He went further to argue that some men are capable of managing multiple emotional connections at the same time. According to him, love does not automatically prevent cheating, as feelings and behaviour are not always aligned.

“I feel like men can multitask emotionally. They can love you and still cheat,” he added, suggesting that affection for a partner does not always stop a man from being unfaithful.

Shank Comic also attempted to clarify that cheating, in some cases, may not be driven by the intention to hurt a partner. He noted that while betrayal often causes emotional pain, the act itself is not always carried out with the goal of causing damage.

“I don’t think cheating is always about trying to hurt someone,” he explained, though he admitted that the outcome usually leads to emotional distress for the partner involved.

As the conversation progressed, the comedian appeared to acknowledge how controversial his opinion sounded. He laughed while trying to further explain his point, admitting that his argument was becoming difficult to defend without raising more questions.

“The more I try to explain it, the worse it sounds,” he said with a laugh, before still maintaining that his perspective reflects a certain reality for some men.

Despite the backlash such statements often attract, Shank Comic stood by his belief that love and infidelity are not always mutually exclusive. He insisted that human emotions and actions can be complicated, especially in romantic relationships.
