Netflix is adding another chaotic comedy to its growing catalogue of original films with Little Brother, a new release that pairs the unpredictable humour of John Cena and Eric André in a story built around unexpected reunions, awkward family bonds and complete disorder.
Set to debut this weekend, the comedy brings together two performers known for very different styles of entertainment but connected by their ability to deliver loud, unconventional and over-the-top moments on screen.
Directed by Matt Spicer and written by Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel, Little Brother turns a simple premise into an increasingly chaotic journey that explores admiration, identity and the complications that arise when the past suddenly appears at the worst possible moment.
At the centre of the story is Rudd, played by John Cena, a successful real estate businessman whose carefully managed life appears to be heading in the right direction.
Rudd is preparing for what could become a major turning point in his career — an opportunity connected to a reality television show that has the potential to transform his public image and professional future.
But his plans begin to collapse when someone from his past unexpectedly reappears.
Years earlier, while in high school, Rudd had participated in a charity mentorship initiative similar to the “Big Brother” programme.
At the time, the experience appeared temporary and insignificant.
What Rudd never realised was that the younger participant assigned to him viewed the relationship very differently.
Marcus, played by Eric André, spent years holding onto memories of that connection and eventually built an idealised version of Rudd in his mind.
Now older and determined to reconnect, Marcus escapes from a psychiatric facility and sets out to find the person he believes changed his life.
His arrival turns Rudd’s organised world upside down.
Instead of preparing for career-defining opportunities, Rudd suddenly finds himself managing chaos, confusion and increasingly uncomfortable situations caused by Marcus’s unpredictable behaviour.
The result is a comedy built around misunderstandings, exaggerated situations and unexpected emotional moments.
Netflix describes the movie as a combination of outrageous humour and character-driven storytelling, with scenes designed to push awkward situations to ridiculous extremes.
For audiences familiar with Cena’s comedic performances and André’s unpredictable style, Little Brother appears positioned to deliver exactly the type of exaggerated comedy both actors have become known for.
Beyond the lead duo, the film also features a supporting cast that adds additional energy to the story.
Michelle Monaghan, Christopher Meloni, Sherry Cola, Ego Nwodim and Caleb Hearon all appear in the production, helping create a fast-moving ensemble comedy filled with unusual personalities and escalating situations.
Their performances contribute to the movie’s larger-than-life tone and support the tension between Rudd’s desire for order and Marcus’s unpredictable presence.
Unlike many major comedy releases, Little Brother will not receive a theatrical release.
Instead, the movie is launching exclusively through Netflix.
Viewers interested in watching will need an active Netflix subscription, as the streaming platform remains the only place where the film will be available.
The movie officially arrives on Friday, June 26, 2026.
According to the release schedule, Little Brother becomes available at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time, which corresponds to 3:00 a.m. Eastern Time.
That means viewers in regions following Pacific time can begin watching immediately after midnight.
For subscribers in other locations, availability will depend on local time zone conversions.
Netflix currently offers multiple subscription plans for users, ranging from lower-cost options with advertisements to premium plans that include ad-free viewing and higher video quality.
As anticipation builds, Little Brother is shaping up to be another addition to Netflix’s expanding comedy catalogue — combining strange situations, exaggerated humour and an unusual relationship that turns one man’s perfect life into complete chaos.
