Media personality Morayo Afolabi-Brown has opened up about a deeply personal chapter of her life, revealing that heartbreak was the reason she eventually left Harvesters Church.

Speaking during a recent conversation with Pastor Bolaji Idowu, Morayo shared how the end of a romantic relationship with a fellow minister affected her and influenced one of the biggest decisions she made at the time.

According to her, both she and her former partner were actively involved in ministry within the church. While she served as the head usher, the man she was dating was also a minister. When the relationship came to an end, she found it difficult to remain in the same environment and continue serving alongside him.

Recalling the experience, Morayo said, “I left Harvesters Church because of a man. He broke up with me. We were both ministers at the church; I was the head usher, and he was a minister. I left because I can't just stay in same church and working with the same person who broke up with me, impossible.”

The television personality explained that the decision had nothing to do with the church itself, but rather the emotional reality she was dealing with after the breakup. For her, continuing to worship and serve in the same space as someone she had once been in a relationship with became too difficult to handle.

Her candid admission offered a glimpse into the challenges many people face when personal relationships intersect with work, ministry, or other important parts of their lives. While some people may choose to remain in the same environment after a breakup, Morayo said that was not something she felt capable of doing at the time.

The media personality did not disclose further details about the relationship or what led to its end. Instead, she focused on explaining the emotional impact the breakup had on her and why leaving the church felt like the best decision for her wellbeing.

Her revelation has added a personal dimension to her public story, showing that even those in visible positions can face difficult emotional moments that shape major life decisions. By speaking openly about her experience, Morayo highlighted the human side of heartbreak and the difficult choices that sometimes follow it.
