“I Have Never Stopped Anybody From Seeing His Children” — Yul Edochie Responds To Obasi’s Allegation

Yul Edochie has addressed allegations linking him to an ongoing dispute between Emmanuel Obasi and his former wife, Judy Austin, over access to their children.

The actor broke his silence after Obasi reportedly accused him of playing a role in preventing him from seeing his children. The allegation added a new dimension to the long-running public disagreements involving the former couple, prompting fresh questions about Yul Edochie’s involvement in the matter.

Responding to the claim, the actor firmly denied having any influence over whether Obasi sees his children, insisting that he has never stood in the way of a parent having access to their child.

According to Edochie, several people had contacted him after hearing the allegation, urging him to allow Obasi access to the children. He said those appeals were misplaced because he has never been responsible for making such decisions.

“Some of my fans have reached out to me, saying, ‘pls allow him to see his children’. I have never stopped anybody from seeing his children,” he said.

The actor went on to criticize what he described as a growing tendency for individuals to bring private family matters into the public space rather than pursuing direct solutions. While he did not mention Obasi by name in that part of his statement, he suggested that some people now prefer public attention and online engagement to addressing issues privately.

“In this era of social media, people prefer chasing clout and chasing social media money with my name, rather than doing the right thing,” he stated.

Edochie maintained that the matter of access to the children should be handled between Obasi and Judy Austin, stressing that the issue falls outside his responsibility. He argued that if Obasi genuinely wants to see or take his children, the appropriate step would be to communicate directly with their mother instead of directing accusations at him.

“Tell him to call his ex wife, if he wants to see or take his children, let them discuss it. He has her number. It has nothing to do with me,” he added.

His remarks represent the clearest response yet to allegations that he has interfered in the relationship between Obasi and his children. By distancing himself from the dispute, Edochie sought to draw a line between his personal life and the family arrangements involving his wife’s previous marriage.

The actor’s comments also underscore his position that any discussions concerning custody, visitation, or parental access should be resolved by the individuals directly involved rather than through public accusations.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Emmanuel Obasi nor Judy Austin had issued a fresh response to Yul Edochie’s latest comments.
