Nollywood actress Funmi Awelewa has shared an emotional message on social media, revealing her ongoing struggles with betrayal, loneliness, and unresolved childhood trauma.

The Yoruba film star took to her Instagram page to express deep frustration over what she described as a repeated pattern of being let down by people she trusted. According to her, the experiences have left her emotionally exhausted and struggling to maintain meaningful relationships.

In her emotional post, Awelewa said she has spent years trying to heal from past pain, but keeps finding herself in similar situations that reopen old wounds.

She explained that her challenges are not limited to one aspect of her life, but extend across friendships, family relationships, work connections, and romantic experiences.

The actress suggested that the repeated disappointments have contributed to her feeling isolated, adding that she often finds it difficult to trust people or feel secure in relationships.

She also linked her current emotional state to unresolved issues from her childhood, noting that some of the experiences she went through while growing up still affect her adulthood.

In her words, she expressed frustration at what she described as a cycle of betrayal that keeps repeating itself despite her efforts to heal and move forward.

She wrote emotionally:

“I’m tired!! For the first time!! I’m tired of Agbaromoni ta koni. Oga tomu aparo’moni tako ni lowo. Every time, every year!”

The actress went on to reflect on how long it took her to recover from earlier emotional wounds, stating that she thought she had overcome them until recent experiences brought them back.

“It took me years to heal from Betrayal and childhood trauma,” she added.

Awelewa further stated that she is now at a point where she feels overwhelmed and has turned to faith for strength, expressing a desire for divine intervention in her struggles.

“Orijafunmi is a name, but at this point, make Allah fight this battle, Abeg. For the first time in my life, I’m tired,” she wrote.

She described feeling emotionally drained and admitted that she often breaks down in moments of loneliness and sadness when reflecting on her life experiences.

The actress also suggested that her difficulty in maintaining stable relationships has affected her personal life, including her status as a single woman.

According to her, repeated disappointment from people around her has made it harder for her to build trust or feel secure in relationships.

“I’m tired of meeting the wrong people. I’m not lucky in seeing myself in people,” she wrote.

She added that the pattern of betrayal has affected her relationships with family members, colleagues, friends, and romantic partners, contributing to her feeling of isolation.

“Family, Workers, Friends, Partner… ME,” she concluded, implying that her struggles cut across all areas of her social life.

The post has since generated reactions from fans and colleagues, with many expressing concern for her emotional well-being and encouraging her to stay strong.

While Awelewa did not mention any specific individuals in her message, her post highlights the emotional toll that personal experiences and long-term trauma can have, especially in the public eye where celebrities often face pressure while dealing with private struggles.
