Music executive EeZee Tee has made startling remarks about the gospel music industry, claiming that many of the realities behind the scenes are far different from what the public sees.
The record label boss, who has spent years working within the gospel music space, alleged that the industry is plagued by hypocrisy, deception, pretense and what he described as deep religious practices that often mask the truth.
Sharing his thoughts in a candid statement, EeZee Tee said many people have a positive perception of gospel music because of its spiritual message, but insisted that there are serious issues that remain hidden from public view.
“The Gospel Music Industry Is DARKER than what you think. It is clothed in Hypocrisy, lies, denials, pretense and deep religion, so folks rarely see through it,” he wrote.
According to him, the focus in many quarters has shifted away from genuine spirituality. He argued that appearances and performances have become more important than authentic faith and spiritual leadership.
“It is more performance-based, than spirit led. Driven more by emotions than spirituality,” he added.
EeZee Tee also took aim at some members of the gospel music community who frequently criticize the secular entertainment industry. While many gospel artists and stakeholders often position themselves as different from their secular counterparts, the music executive suggested that similar problems exist within both worlds.
“Most of the Gospel folks who criticize the secular industry, know this for a fact,” he stated.
Drawing from his personal experience, EeZee Tee revealed that he has had the opportunity to interact with people in both the gospel and secular music industries. Based on those experiences, he claimed that the level of wrongdoing taking place within gospel music circles would shock many people.
“I have been here for a while and have been privileged to engage with both INDUSTRIES and trust me, you have no idea the evil that goes on in the ‘GOSPEL INDUSTRY’,” he wrote.
The music executive further alleged that individuals who choose to challenge questionable practices within the industry often face hostility and isolation. According to him, speaking out against wrongdoing can quickly turn a person into a target.
“Once you stand up against the evil, you are hated and become a target,” he said.
His comments come at a time when conversations about accountability, transparency and ethics within the gospel entertainment space continue to attract attention from fans and industry observers alike.
Despite his strong criticism, EeZee Tee ended his statement with a prayerful note, expressing hope for divine intervention.
“May JESUS help us. Selah.”
