Chaos As Over 5 Phones Disappear At Alexx Ekubo Service Of Songs, Stan Nze Reacts

Actor Stan Nze has expressed concern after an unpleasant incident reportedly occurred during the service of songs held for actor Alexx Ekubo.

The gathering, which took place on June 10, 2026, brought together family members, friends, and colleagues who had come to honour the late loved one and support the bereaved family ahead of the final burial arrangements.

However, what was meant to be a solemn and respectful evening reportedly took an unexpected turn after several attendees discovered that their phones had gone missing.

Stan Nze, who was present at the event, said more than five phones were stolen, noting that he chose the figure carefully to avoid exaggeration but strongly believes the number could be higher. He also suggested that the act was likely carried out by more than one person.

“So we had service of songs of late Actor Alex Ekubo last night and to my greatest surprise over 5 phones were stolen, l said 5 because l didn’t want to exaggerate it. I am so sure it’s above 5 phones, and l am very sure it wasn’t just one person that stole all the phones. The question now is how do people come to where people are mourning and grieving and you come to add more sorrows to to their sorrow?

Where’s our conscience as Human Being and as Nigerians ? And we keep saying the government is bad what about we the citizens?? I keep saying it if all our government is taking away from their seats today who among us is not a thief? We all need to rethink and give our lives to Christ, this is so sad and very unfortunate”

In his reaction, the actor also reflected on what he described as a deeper issue of morality in society, questioning the mindset of individuals who would engage in theft during a gathering meant for mourning and reflection. He further compared such behaviour to wider societal challenges, suggesting that accountability should not only be placed on leadership but also on citizens themselves.

The service of songs is a pre-burial tradition commonly observed in Nigeria, where loved ones come together to pray, share memories, and pay tribute to the deceased before the final burial ceremony.
