Reality TV personality and entertainer Teddy A has shared his opinion on marriage and financial partnership, stating that he does not support the idea of having a stay-at-home wife.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate made the statement during a recent roundtable conversation on Echo Room, where he discussed modern relationships, marriage dynamics, and the importance of financial independence between couples.
According to Teddy A, he strongly believes in supporting women and encouraging them to pursue success and personal growth rather than depending entirely on their husbands financially.
“The way I see a woman, I love to support a woman. I have no problem having a high-value woman; I do not want a stay-at-home wife,” he said during the discussion.
The reality star explained that he prefers a relationship where both partners actively contribute financially and build a future together through joint effort and ambition.
“I hate that s**t, we both have got to get it so when we get older, we can enjoy what we have worked on together,” he added.
His comments quickly generated conversations online, with many social media users debating his perspective on marriage and gender roles. While some people agreed with his view about financial partnership, others argued that being a stay-at-home wife or mother should not be looked down on because it also involves sacrifice and responsibility.
Despite emphasizing the importance of independence and ambition in women, Teddy A stated that he still values traditional qualities such as respect and submission within marriage.
“But the point where you miss it is when you are not submissive,” he added.
The statement sparked mixed reactions online, especially among fans who interpreted his remarks differently. Some users praised him for encouraging financial empowerment among women, while others criticised the contradiction between wanting an independent woman and still expecting submission.
The discussion also reignited conversations surrounding his marriage to fellow reality TV star and actress Bambam.
Speculation about a possible crisis between the couple has been circulating online in recent months after fans noticed that both celebrities had unfollowed each other on Instagram.
The situation drew more attention earlier in the year when Teddy A and Bambam shared separate Valentine’s Day messages instead of posting together as they had done in previous years. Their social media activity led many fans to question whether the couple were experiencing challenges in their marriage.
Neither Teddy A nor Bambam has publicly confirmed any separation or marital issues, but the rumours have continued to trend across entertainment blogs and social media platforms.
The pair first met during the 2018 edition of Big Brother Naija, where their relationship became one of the most talked-about romances from the reality show. Their connection continued outside the house, eventually leading to marriage.
In 2019, the couple held their wedding ceremony in Dubai, attracting attention from fans and celebrities alike. They later welcomed their first child in 2020 and announced the birth of their second child in 2022.
Over the years, Teddy A and Bambam have often spoken publicly about love, marriage, and parenting while sharing moments from their family life online.
Teddy A’s latest remarks have now added another layer to ongoing public discussions about modern marriage expectations, especially regarding the balance between financial independence, partnership, and traditional values in relationships.
While reactions remain divided, many fans believe the reality star’s comments reflect changing views about marriage among younger couples, where both partners are increasingly expected to contribute financially while navigating evolving relationship dynamics.
The conversation has continued trending online, with supporters and critics debating whether Teddy A’s views represent progress in modern relationships or reinforce conflicting expectations placed on women in marriage.
