The event took place on Thursday night at Fame in Ikoyi and formed part of the official activities leading up to the main AMVCA ceremony scheduled to hold on Saturday at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites.

The Icons Night gathered some of the biggest names in the Nigerian entertainment industry, all celebrating fashion, creativity and excellence in African cinema.

Susan Peters, known for her elegance and red carpet presence, stood out among several celebrities in attendance. Her outfit drew attention from both guests and fashion enthusiasts at the venue, ultimately earning her the Best Dressed recognition of the night.

Following her win, the actress took to social media to share her excitement. She posted a video showing the moment she received her prize on stage, expressing gratitude for the honour and the overwhelming support she received throughout the evening.

The Icons Night is part of a series of events designed to celebrate veterans and influential figures in Nollywood ahead of the main AMVCA awards.

This year’s edition has been particularly vibrant, with appearances from leading actors, filmmakers and entertainment personalities across Africa.

Some of the notable attendees at the event included Toyin Abraham, Patience Ozokwo, Joke Silva, Nkem Owoh, Keppy Ekpenyong and Charles Inojie. Their presence added colour and excitement to the evening, as guests celebrated the contributions of industry icons.

The AMVCA Cultural Night is expected to follow on Friday, continuing the build-up to the grand finale of the awards ceremony. Organisers have promised a night filled with performances, cultural showcases and networking opportunities for creatives across the continent.

The 2026 AMVCA ceremony will feature several categories recognising excellence in film, television and digital content. This year’s edition has also introduced new categories aimed at expanding representation for different regions across Africa.
