Actor and digital content creator Kenzy has been unveiled as the official digital host for the 2026 edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, popularly known as the AMVCA.
The announcement has generated excitement among fans of the annual entertainment event, especially younger audiences who are familiar with Kenzy’s energetic online presence and comedic style.
The skit maker shared the development on his social media pages, expressing gratitude for the opportunity while promising viewers an entertaining experience throughout the award weekend.
According to him, his role will involve giving fans online access to some of the biggest moments from the ceremony.
From celebrity fashion appearances on the red carpet to backstage interactions and interviews with nominees, Kenzy said he would be bringing exclusive updates directly to viewers through social media platforms.
The content creator also disclosed that he would be handling a special TikTok and Instagram takeover for Africa Magic during the event.
He encouraged fans to stay connected to the broadcaster’s social media accounts to catch behind-the-scenes clips, interviews, fashion highlights and live reactions from celebrities attending the prestigious award ceremony.
Kenzy further urged viewers to tune in to the live broadcast of the event on DStv and GOtv, hinting that this year’s edition would be bigger and more exciting than previous ones.
He also spoke about the AMVCA cultural day celebration, inviting fans to participate in the event, which is expected to showcase African fashion, traditions and creativity.
His appointment marks a new chapter for the digital side of the awards ceremony. In 2025, actress and media personality Osas Ighodaro served as the digital host and received praise for her engaging red carpet interviews and online coverage.
Many fans believe Kenzy’s youthful personality and strong connection with social media audiences make him a suitable choice for the role this year.
The 2026 edition of the AMVCA is scheduled to hold in Lagos on May 9. Organisers have already announced that comedian Bovi Ugboma and South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha will serve as hosts for the main ceremony.
This year’s event is expected to celebrate excellence in film, television and digital entertainment across Africa. The organisers revealed that the award show will feature 32 categories covering both audience-voted and jury-decided sections.
New categories recognising indigenous language films from parts of North and Central Africa have also been introduced, a move many industry observers say reflects the growing diversity and expansion of African cinema.
Over the years, the AMVCA has become one of the biggest entertainment events on the continent, attracting actors, filmmakers, producers, influencers and media personalities from different African countries.
With Kenzy now leading the digital coverage, fans are expecting more interactive and engaging online content throughout the award weekend.
