Nigerian rapper and singer Ice Prince has shared a surprising confession about his past lifestyle, revealing the huge amount of money he spent on marijuana before eventually deciding to quit smoking and adopt a healthier way of life.

The award-winning artiste made the disclosure during a recent episode of the Black Box Podcast, where he spoke openly about his personal struggles, financial decisions, and the lifestyle changes that led to his transformation.

Ice Prince, known for his hit songs such as Aboki, said that between 2020 and 2026, he spent an estimated N340 million on weed from just one supplier based in Lagos.

According to him, the figure only represents transactions made with a single dealer and does not account for purchases made from other sources in cities such as Abuja, Jos, Ghana, and even London.

“From 2020 to 2026, I have spent N340 million on weed from just one dealer alone, not to even mention my other dealers from Abuja, Ghana, Jos, and London. This is just one dealer, who lives close to me in Lagos,” he said during the interview.

The rapper’s revelation quickly sparked reactions online, with many fans expressing shock at the scale of spending, while others reflected on the broader conversation about celebrity lifestyles, addiction, and financial discipline in the entertainment industry.

Ice Prince, however, clarified that his statement was not meant to glorify the habit but to highlight a personal journey of realization and change.

He explained that after years of indulgence, he made a conscious decision to quit smoking and also reduce his alcohol intake as part of a broader effort to improve his health and regain control of his life.

According to him, the decision to stop was influenced by self-reflection and the need to focus on long-term wellbeing rather than short-term habits.

The rapper also revealed that his transformation was not limited to substance use alone, as he has also been intentional about making changes in other areas of his lifestyle.

He disclosed that he is currently on a personal journey of self-discovery, which includes taking breaks from certain habits and focusing more on mental clarity, discipline, and personal growth.

In a further revelation during the podcast, Ice Prince said he has also chosen to remain celibate for a period of time as part of his commitment to rebuilding himself mentally and emotionally.

He explained that the decision is part of a broader reset aimed at helping him better understand himself and redirect his energy toward more productive aspects of his career and personal life.

Over the years, Ice Prince has remained one of Nigeria’s prominent hip-hop voices, gaining recognition both locally and internationally through his music, collaborations, and stage performances.

His openness about his past struggles adds to a growing list of celebrities who have spoken publicly about addiction, lifestyle pressures, and the challenges that come with fame in the entertainment industry.

Fans have since taken to social media to commend him for his honesty, with many praising his willingness to speak about personal challenges that are often hidden behind fame and success.

While opinions remain divided on the scale of his spending, the rapper’s message has largely been interpreted as a cautionary reflection on excess and the importance of making intentional life changes.

Ice Prince concluded his remarks by emphasizing that growth often comes with difficult decisions, and that choosing a healthier path was necessary for his future.
