Linda Ejiofor has once again cemented her place among Nollywood’s finest actresses after making history at the 2026 edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards


The talented actress achieved a major career milestone by becoming the first female performer to win both the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress awards at the same AMVCA ceremony.


The glamorous award event took place at the prestigious Eko Hotels & Suites on May 9, 2026, attracting some of the biggest names in African entertainment. While several actors delivered memorable performances throughout the year, Ejiofor’s outstanding acting skills stood out among viewers, critics, and judges.


Her victories came through her roles in the movies The Herd and The Serpent Gift. In both productions, the actress displayed emotional depth, versatility, and remarkable screen presence that earned widespread praise across social media and within the movie industry.


In The Herd, Ejiofor delivered a compelling performance in a story that explored insecurity and societal challenges facing ordinary Nigerians. 

Her role resonated strongly with audiences because of the emotional realism she brought to the character. Meanwhile, The Serpent Gift showcased another side of her talent as she portrayed a complex character navigating betrayal, family conflict, and survival.


During her acceptance speech, the actress became emotional while thanking God, her supporters, directors, and production teams who contributed to her journey

. She revealed that she had always prayed for challenging roles that would push her beyond her comfort zone and allow her to grow as an actress.


The double win marked another important chapter in the actress’s impressive Nollywood journey, which began many years ago. 


Linda Ejiofor first gained national attention through the popular television series Tinsel, where her performance quickly made her a fan favourite. Her role in the long-running show helped establish her as one of the promising actresses in the industry.


Her breakthrough continued in 2015 when she won Best Supporting Actress at the AMVCA for her role in The Meeting. The award significantly boosted her career and opened doors to more challenging acting opportunities.


Born in Lagos and originally from Abia State, the actress had a disciplined educational background before entering the entertainment industry. 

She attended Ilabor Primary School in Surulere and later studied at Federal Government Girls’ College in Onitsha, Anambra State. She eventually earned a degree in Sociology from the University of Port Harcourt.


Away from acting, Ejiofor’s personal life has also attracted admiration from fans. In 2018, she married fellow actor Ibrahim Suleiman after their relationship became one of Nollywood’s most celebrated love stories.
