A fashion arrangement that was meant to prepare for a glamorous red-carpet appearance at the AMVCA has taken a controversial turn involving Big Brother Naija Season 9 housemate Chinwe Elibe and a stylist identified as Prince Innovations.
According to Chinwe’s account, she and her friend initially contacted the stylist with expectations of securing well-crafted outfits for the high-profile entertainment event. The agreement reportedly involved a combined payment of N1.2 million, with Chinwe contributing N800,000 and her friend, Ruthie, paying N400,000. The arrangement was based on trust, as they anticipated receiving their outfits in time for the event.
However, Chinwe alleged that things did not go as planned. She claimed that after the payment was made, communication from the stylist became inconsistent and eventually stopped completely. With the event drawing closer, she said attempts to reach him were unsuccessful, leaving them uncertain about the status of their outfits.
The situation escalated further when Chinwe and her friend reportedly arrived at the AMVCA and unexpectedly came face-to-face with the same stylist they had been unable to reach. The encounter reportedly intensified their frustration, especially given the unresolved financial and professional expectations.
Speaking out publicly, Chinwe expressed her anger and disappointment in strong terms.
She said:
“So, guys, this is the face of the thief. This guy scammed me of N800,000 and scammed Ruthie of N400,000, in the name of styling us for AMVCA outfits. So he came to the AMVCA, because he didn’t expect us to come. His cup is full, his name is Prince Innovations. You want to be popular, welcome to stardom”.
Her remarks quickly gained attention, drawing reactions across social media platforms where users debated the circumstances and questioned the professional conduct of those involved in celebrity styling arrangements.
As conversations continue online, the incident has added another layer of controversy to the AMVCA season, which is typically associated with fashion, glamour, and entertainment excellence. The allegations have also sparked broader discussions about trust, accountability, and informal business dealings within the entertainment and fashion space.
At the time of reporting, further responses from the stylist identified as Prince Innovations had not been made public.
