Veteran Nollywood actress Fausat Balogun, popularly known as Madam Saje, has spoken openly about her love for attending social gatherings, especially parties hosted by younger actors in the film industry.
In a recent interview, the respected actress addressed growing criticism from some members of the public who question her frequent appearances at events.
She explained that her interest in social functions goes beyond entertainment, describing it as something deeply personal and emotional.
According to her, attending people’s celebrations reminds her of her own experiences in the industry and life in general. She shared that in the past, she once organized an event and was disappointed when many of the invited guests failed to show up.
That experience, she said, changed how she views social support and made her more intentional about showing up for others.
Madam Saje also used the opportunity to reflect on her journey in the Nigerian movie industry. She recalled her early struggles, revealing that she went through extremely difficult moments before finding success.
At some point in her life, she had to survive under harsh conditions, including situations where she had nothing and had to improvise just to get by.
Despite these challenges, she emphasized that every stage of life has its purpose and that people should not be discouraged by their current struggles. She advised that patience and consistency are key, noting that everyone eventually gets their time to shine.
The actress further revealed that her educational background was limited due to her early involvement in acting.
She explained that she did not go beyond primary school, a situation she believes has affected certain aspects of her career, particularly in areas that require strong English communication skills. However, she expressed gratitude for the opportunities she has still been able to enjoy in the film industry.
Over the years, Fausat Balogun has remained one of the most recognizable faces in Yoruba cinema, earning respect for her consistency, talent, and longevity.
