Nollywood actress Sunshine Rosman has raised alarm over the worsening economic conditions and growing insecurity across Nigeria, expressing frustration over what she described as a dangerous level of silence among citizens.
In an emotional outburst, the actress voiced her concerns about the increasing hardship faced by many Nigerians, as well as the persistent violence affecting several parts of the country. She called for urgent awareness and action, urging both leaders and citizens to confront the situation head-on.
Rosman questioned the seeming acceptance of the current realities, wondering why more people are not speaking up despite the severity of the crisis.
“When are we going to wake up as Nigerians? When is it finally going to be enough?” she asked.
Highlighting the depth of the country’s challenges, the actress noted that the economic situation alone is already overwhelming for many households. According to her, issues such as poverty and lack of basic infrastructure continue to make daily life difficult for millions.
“We can’t even begin to talk about the economy right now the poverty rate, the lack of infrastructure in this country,” she said.
However, she stressed that beyond economic struggles, the ongoing insecurity and violence across parts of the nation have made the situation even more troubling. Rosman expressed sadness over the continued loss of lives, particularly in regions plagued by attacks.
“But as if that’s not bad enough, innocent people are being slaughtered,” she added.
The actress also drew attention to the plight of communities forced to abandon their homes due to insecurity. She explained that many families now live in fear, with little confidence in their safety or protection.
“Lives are being lost for nothing, and people have to migrate from their towns, homes and villages because they know that nothing will be done,” she lamented.
Her comments reflect growing public concern about displacement, as more people are reportedly leaving their communities in search of safety amid recurring violence.
Rosman further urged Nigerians not to normalize the situation or remain indifferent, emphasizing that the current state of affairs requires collective attention and response.
“Nigeria’s hardship, insecurity and suffering can no longer be ignored,” she stated.
Her remarks come at a time when conversations around national security and economic recovery continue to dominate public discourse, with many citizens calling for more decisive action from authorities.
The actress’s passionate message has since resonated with many, sparking conversations online about the need for accountability, unity, and meaningful change.
