“We Are Better Off Than Before” – 2Face on Nigeria’s Current State

Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, widely recognized as 2Face or 2Baba, recently spoke about the country’s development and his personal commitment to promoting a positive image of Nigeria. 

In a recent interview with Wazobia TV, the Afro-pop legend expressed optimism about Nigeria’s current situation, claiming that the nation has improved compared to previous years.

According to 2Face, while challenges persist, Nigerians are witnessing progress in multiple areas, and he believes it is important to focus on the steps forward rather than dwell solely on setbacks. 

“When you look around, you see that things are moving in the right direction. It’s not perfect, but there is growth. We are better off than in the past,” he said.

The artist went on to reveal that he has taken it upon himself to serve as a self-appointed ambassador for Nigeria. “I have decided to represent Nigeria everywhere I go.

 I call it my personal mission to showcase our country in a positive light and highlight what we can achieve,” he added. 

His words reflect his long-standing belief in the power of influence, as he aims to inspire both young Nigerians and the international community about the potential of the nation.

However, 2Face’s optimistic outlook has sparked some debate online. Critics argue that despite the progress he mentions, Nigeria still faces significant challenges, including economic hardship, insecurity, and political unrest. 

Social media users have questioned whether the country’s improvements are enough to justify such public confidence.

Despite the criticism, 2Face emphasized the importance of action alongside words. He stated that merely speaking about change is not enough; individuals must actively contribute to creating a better society. 

“I am not just talking. I am taking steps in my own way to help. Whether through music, public engagements, or social initiatives, I want to make a tangible difference,” he said.

The musician’s statements also highlight his broader philosophy regarding personal responsibility and leadership. By calling himself a self-appointed ambassador, 2Face stresses that change often starts with individual effort and initiative. 

He encourages Nigerians to take ownership of their role in the nation’s development and to recognize the progress that has already been made.
