Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has weighed in on the ongoing tension between actresses Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele, following a viral incident at a recent movie premiere.
The situation, which has sparked widespread reactions online, began after clips surfaced from an event hosted by Iyabo Ojo. In the now-viral video, Toyin Abraham was seen approaching Akindele to greet her politely. However, the gesture appeared to go unacknowledged, as Akindele seemingly turned away, leaving Abraham visibly uncomfortable.
The moment quickly ignited conversations across social media, with opinions divided. While some users criticised Akindele’s reaction as dismissive, others argued that Abraham should have avoided the interaction altogether if there was already tension between them.
Reacting to the situation during an interview with Feel Right TV, Taiwo Hassan made it clear that he prefers not to get involved in disputes, particularly those involving women. Despite this stance, he shared his candid opinion on the matter.
“If Toyin and Funke have sense, they should know God has favoured them. I don’t interfere in women’s matters,” he said.
The veteran actor went further to explain why he avoids stepping into such situations, noting that disagreements involving women often escalate beyond what outsiders can easily manage.
“Something that will happen that men will just laugh over, if it happens to women, it is always worse than Hitler’s war, so it is hard for anybody to interfere.
“Any man who interferes is stupid. What is the reason for the fight? God blessed the two of them already, and the next thing they think is right is to be fighting. Very soon, they will come back to their senses. It is not even my business.”
His comments reflect a belief that the disagreement may not last long, suggesting that both actresses will eventually resolve their differences.
The tension between Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele is not entirely new. Speculation about a strained relationship between the two has circulated for years, particularly since 2021, when Abraham’s film The Ghost and the Tout Too drew comparisons with Akindele’s box office successes.
Although both actresses have continued to thrive in their careers, conversations about rivalry and competition have persisted among fans and industry observers.
In 2024, Toyin Abraham addressed the situation publicly, attributing the perceived conflict to industry competition and public speculation rather than any deep personal feud.
The recent premiere incident, however, has once again brought the narrative back into the spotlight, fueling fresh debates about their relationship.
As reactions continue to pour in, Taiwo Hassan’s remarks add another perspective to the conversation—one that leans toward patience and the belief that time may eventually ease the tension between the two Nollywood stars.
