Nollywood actor and filmmaker Rotimi Salami has spoken publicly about a recent health emergency that led to his hospitalisation and left him reflecting deeply on the pressures of his work and personal well-being.

The actor disclosed the experience on his Instagram page, where he shared a photograph taken from his hospital bed. In the post, he expressed gratitude for surviving what he described as one of the most difficult periods he has faced in recent times.

According to him, the last 48 hours before his recovery were particularly intense and uncertain.
“Thank God for my life… I survived the last 48 hours because God said yes,” he wrote, conveying both relief and gratitude over his survival.

Rotimi Salami went further to explain the circumstances that contributed to the health scare. He pointed to the demanding nature of promoting his latest film, Kilanko, noting that the physical and mental pressure that came with the project placed a heavy burden on him. The actor admitted that he pushed himself beyond his usual limits in an effort to meet expectations and keep up with the demands of the job.

In his words, he did not attempt to distance himself from responsibility for his condition, acknowledging instead that his body had been subjected to extreme strain over time. He noted that the situation was not something that came unexpectedly but rather the result of prolonged stress and overexertion.

“I am not the type to say ‘Devil is a liar’ because I have truly stressed this body. Kilanko has taken too much from me, but still I am grateful to God for life and Kilanko’s progress,” he added.

Despite the severity of the experience, Rotimi expressed appreciation for his recovery and for being able to witness the continued progress of the project that demanded so much from him. His openness about the ordeal quickly drew attention across social media, with colleagues in the film industry and fans responding with messages of concern, encouragement, and prayers for his continued healing.

Many praised his honesty in speaking about the physical toll of the entertainment industry, especially during demanding promotional periods, while others expressed relief that he was on the path to recovery.
