The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the devastating news involving veteran actor Patrick Doyle, who recently lost his newborn daughter barely a day after her birth. What began as a moment of immense joy quickly turned into a heartbreaking experience for the actor and his family.

Just days ago, Doyle had taken to social media to share the exciting news of welcoming his first child with his wife, Olufunmilayo. The announcement, filled with gratitude and happiness, was met with warm congratulations from fans, colleagues, and well-wishers across the country. However, the joy was tragically short-lived.

In a deeply emotional message posted on Facebook, the actor revealed that his daughter, named Omayinuwa, passed away only hours after her arrival. According to him, the baby was born on Friday, April 10, at about 10:40 a.m., but sadly died the following day, Saturday, April 11, at approximately 4:15 p.m.

Doyle described the brief presence of his daughter as both painful and profoundly meaningful. Despite the short time she spent with the family, he emphasized that she brought immense happiness and light into their lives. The cause of her death was not disclosed, leaving many in shock and sorrow over the unexpected tragedy.

In his message, the grieving father expressed a deep sense of faith and acceptance, even in the face of such overwhelming loss. He acknowledged the pain of losing a child so soon but stated that he and his family have chosen to submit to what they believe is God’s will.

He wrote:

“Omayinuwa visited us briefly at about 10:40 am on Friday 10th April and returned to heaven on Saturday 11th of April at about 4:15 pm. Her stay was short but it brought great joy with it. We would wished for a longer stay, but alas heaven thought otherwise,” he wrote.

“This much we know though, God still rules in the affairs of men. Our faith in the goodness of God remains resolute regardless. Sibe’ sibe’ Oluwa n’be’. It is well with our soul.”

The touching tribute has since drawn an outpouring of sympathy from fans, colleagues, and members of the Nollywood community, many of whom have taken to social media to offer condolences and prayers for the bereaved family.

While the loss is undeniably painful, Doyle’s message reflects a remarkable strength rooted in faith, as he continues to hold onto hope and spiritual reassurance during this difficult time.
