The conversation around Gehgeh and his family has taken another direction after his sister shared a detailed account of her experience and responded to ongoing claims being made about her situation online. Her latest comments add more context to a matter that has already gained wide attention on social media.
She revisited what happened during Gehgeh’s housewarming event, describing a moment that she said left her embarrassed and questioning how she was treated despite being part of the family. According to her, she was not directly invited by her brother, but came through other relatives linked to the event.
“I am earning #30,000 as salary. The day I went to my brother, Gehgeh's house warming, the bouncer sent me away from the gate. My brother didn't even invite me, it was the family members he told that invited me and I was bounced at the gate. I felt so ashamed,” she said.
Her statement also addressed rumors circulating online that she had received financial assistance from Gehgeh, including claims of cash gifts and housing support. She firmly disputed these assertions and challenged people to reconsider the narrative being shared about her.
“Some people said Gehgeh gave me bundles of money and rented a house for me. If that was true, would I still come out to cry? Ask Gehgeh who he has truly empowered in the family. If I was receiving all that, what would I gain by tarnishing his image?” she explained.
As the discussion continued to spread online, a new development shifted attention toward support coming from outside the family. Feminist advocate Obidi stepped into the situation during a livestream session, where she announced financial assistance for Gehgeh’s sister. She raised ₦2 million in real time, drawing reactions from viewers following the conversation.
Beyond the immediate donation, Obidi also shared plans focused on her long-term stability. She promised to support her education in nursing school and further pledged to assist with relocating her abroad after graduation, positioning the intervention as a pathway to a different future.
The situation has since generated mixed reactions, with some focusing on the family disagreement while others are discussing the role of public support and online fundraising in personal matters that become widely shared.
