The organisers of the National Women Mega Empowerment and Rally 2026 have announced a wide-ranging entertainment committee made up of prominent political figures, cultural leaders, and top Nollywood personalities ahead of the event scheduled to hold in Abuja on May 5, 2026.
The initiative, linked to the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs under the coordination of Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, is aimed at promoting women’s empowerment, unity, and national development through a blend of cultural expression and large-scale mobilisation.
According to the organisers, the committee will play a key role in shaping the entertainment and creative direction of the rally, which is expected to attract millions of women from across Nigeria.
The event is themed “The Power of 10 Million: One Voice! One Movement!! One Choice!!!” and is designed to encourage participation, awareness, and collaboration among women nationwide.
The entertainment committee will be chaired by Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, alongside co-chairpersons including Hannatu Musa Musawa, Rachael Umahi, and Ramatu Tijani.
They are expected to oversee planning and coordination of activities that will make the rally both impactful and engaging.
A strong presence from the Nigerian entertainment industry also features in the committee, with leading Nollywood figures such as Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, Joke Silva, and Rahama Sadau among others listed as members.
Their inclusion highlights the organisers’ intention to use entertainment as a powerful tool for engagement and awareness.
Other notable personalities on the committee include Eniola Badmus, Sola Kosoko, Lanre Hassan, Toyin Adegbola, and several others drawn from different regions and cultural backgrounds, reflecting the diversity of the initiative.
Organisers stated that the committee will be responsible for coordinating all entertainment-related activities, ensuring the programme is lively, culturally rich, and memorable.
They added that the involvement of creative talents will help amplify the message of empowerment and national unity.
The rally is expected to feature performances, discussions, and empowerment sessions aimed at addressing issues affecting women across the country, including economic inclusion, leadership opportunities, and social development.
With preparations already in top gear, expectations are high that the event will become one of the largest women-focused gatherings in recent years, combining entertainment with advocacy to drive meaningful impact across communities.
