Other notable attendees included the APC State Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, Aniocha North Local Government Chairman Bazim Chinyere, as well as several party leaders, business associates, and community figures who came to honour the late patriarch.
As part of the funeral rites, a service of songs and tributes was held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Onicha Olona, where family members, friends, and associates paid glowing tributes to the deceased. Many described Sir Ogbue as a man of integrity, a peace advocate, and a devoted servant to both his community and faith.
Delivering a sermon at the event, the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Asaba, Rt. Rev. Kingsley Obuh, praised the late Ogbue for his commitment to Christian values and his contributions to the church and society.
He urged those present to draw inspiration from the life of the deceased, encouraging them to “reflect on the virtues of the deceased and live lives marked by service, humility, and faith.” He also reminded mourners that “true legacy lies in a positive impact on others.”
In a tribute delivered on behalf of the family by Ebele Ogbue, the late elder was portrayed as a disciplined and industrious man who lived a meaningful life rooted in strong values.
The tribute highlighted his dedication to education, family unity, and service, noting that his influence extended beyond his immediate family to the wider community.
“The deceased, despite his advanced age, his passing remained deeply felt by his children and loved ones,” the statement read.
While acknowledging the pain of the loss, the family expressed gratitude for the life he lived, stating that they find comfort in the belief that he has gone to rest. They also pledged to uphold the principles and legacy he left behind.
The burial ceremony, marked by reflection and celebration of life, brought together individuals from various walks of life, all united in honouring a man remembered for his character, service, and lasting impact.
