Bose Ogulu has reacted publicly following the backlash that trailed controversial remarks made by her son, Burna Boy, during a recent livestream.
The Grammy-winning artiste had come under scrutiny after addressing allegations that he and members of his team assaulted popular disc jockey DJ Tunez at a nightclub in Lagos. The claim was initially brought to public attention by fellow music star Wizkid via social media, sparking widespread discussion online.
During a livestream session with Shallipopi, Burna Boy responded to the allegations, denying that the DJ was attacked by a group. He, however, admitted to physically confronting DJ Tunez himself.
“Na only me touch DJ Tunez, no be 10 people. Na two slaps I give am. I swear with my mama. If I dey lie, make Ogun carry my mama go anywhere wey Wizkid mama dey,” he said.
His statement quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from fans and observers. While some supported his honesty, others criticised the admission, noting that it still confirmed an act of violence.
Shortly after the livestream, another video began circulating online, allegedly showing Burna Boy alongside members of his crew during the incident. In the footage, the DJ appeared to be on the ground while multiple individuals were seen around him, with some reportedly kicking him—an account that seemed to contradict Burna Boy’s claim that he acted alone.

Amid the growing reactions, Bose Ogulu was seen in a viral clip surrounded by members of her son’s team, offering prayers in response to the situation. In the video, she appeared to be addressing what she perceived as negative declarations stemming from the incident.
“Oloun ma je a remi kemi. Oloun ma je a remi kemi,” she prayed in Yoruba, a phrase interpreted as a plea for protection against harm or misfortune.
Her response has since drawn attention, with many interpreting it as a protective gesture toward her son in the face of public criticism and potential backlash.
