Baba Mohbad, father of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has broken his silence to clarify false rumors circulating online.
Messages claiming he is seeking house rent from Naira Marley and VeryDarkMan, he said, are entirely untrue.
“I am a landlord I own the house I live in. So, which rent am I supposed to pay?” he asked, expressing disbelief at the baseless claims.
He also denied suggestions that he accepted money from Naira Marley in exchange for not pursuing justice.
“If anyone has evidence or a receipt, let them bring it forward,” he said, appealing to the public to focus on the truth rather than spreading rumors.
Baba Mohbad recounted the difficulties he has faced during the investigation into his son’s death, revealing that authorities had directed him to a fake centre for DNA and pathology tests. He believes this is an attempt by powerful individuals to obstruct justice.
“They picked a fake centre so the truth won’t come out… Without DNA, my son cannot be buried. I beg the government to allow me to lay him to rest,” he said, emphasizing the urgency of the matter.
The grieving father suggested that the case might need to be moved from Lagos State to Ekiti State to ensure transparency and prevent interference.
Despite the obstacles, he remains steadfast in seeking justice for Mohbad, stressing that the fight is not just for his son but to prevent future tragedies.
Through pain and frustration, Baba Mohbad’s message is clear: the truth must be uncovered, those responsible held accountable, and Mohbad must finally be laid to rest.
