Alax Evalsam, the street vendor who captured the internet’s heart with his catchy chant, “Nawa o, some people dem too do oh,” has opened up about a terrifying experience that shocked his fans.
The viral sensation, whose fame skyrocketed seemingly overnight, recently recounted in the Clarity Zone podcast how he was allegedly attacked by a group of men.
According to Alax, the ordeal was both physically and emotionally intense.
“One of them stepped out to buy pepper, soaked it in water, and when he came back, they tied me up, lifted me, and poured it all over my body from head to toe,” he revealed, describing the horrifying scene.
The situation escalated when he was taken to Eko Hotel under circumstances that seemed official but turned out to be staged. Alax claims King Mitchy was involved in orchestrating what appeared to be a ₦20 million deal.
“They took me to Eko Hotel and spoke with the management there. They told me to behave as if I was signing a document while they took a photo of which the 20 million deal was not real,” Alax said, exposing the shocking deception.
Despite these challenges, Alax’s journey from a small-time fish pie vendor to an internet celebrity has seen moments of unexpected support. Following his viral fame, content creators, including Nons Miraj, surprised him with a fully furnished apartment, food supplies, cash, and new clothes. Rent for the apartment was covered for two years, and he also received an initial ₦200,000, with ongoing monthly financial backing promised.
The viral sensation further secured a partnership with Eko Hotel, performing and representing the brand publicly. Yet, these recent revelations have left fans questioning the authenticity of his rise.
What was once seen as a story of triumph is now tinged with controversy, raising questions about the hidden dynamics behind his viral success.
Alax’s story is a mix of inspiration, sudden fame, and shocking betrayal a reminder that behind every viral moment, there may be stories we never see.
