Six Politicians I Prayed for in 2023 Won Their Elections - Pete Edochie

Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has stirred conversation after revealing that he played a spiritual role in the success of several Nigerian politicians during the 2023 general elections. 

The respected film icon disclosed that six politicians who visited him ahead of the polls all emerged victorious after he prayed for them.

According to the legendary actor, the politicians came to his residence bearing traditional gifts, including a ram and kolanuts, in line with cultural practices of seeking blessings from elders. Speaking during a recent visit by popular streamer Peller to his Enugu home, Edochie recounted the experience with confidence, attributing their victories to divine intervention following his prayers.

“Two years ago, six people that were running for political offices came to my house, they brought me a big ram and kolanuts, I prayed for them and they all won their elections,” he said.

The actor further expressed gratitude to God, noting that his prayers have consistently yielded positive results. He stated that whenever he makes a request, it is often granted, emphasizing his strong faith and belief in divine backing. 

According to him, this has not only applied to politicians but to many individuals he has prayed for over time.

Edochie’s comments highlight the continued influence of spirituality and traditional beliefs in Nigeria’s political and social landscape. It is not uncommon for politicians to seek blessings from respected figures, especially elders and cultural icons, as part of their preparation for major contests.

During the visit, the veteran actor also extended prayers to Peller, wishing him success in his career. The streamer, in response, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and kind words, describing the encounter as an honour.

While Edochie did not disclose the identities of the politicians involved, his revelation has sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians. 

Some view it as a testament to faith and cultural tradition, while others see it as a reflection of the deep intertwining of religion, influence, and politics in the country.
