Popular Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday spokes out against the growing culture of body shaming directed at women who undergo cosmetic surgery. Her reaction comes amid the online conversations that followed the reported death of Elena Jessica, which has sparked debates about beauty standards and surgical enhancements.

Taking to social media, the actress criticized what she described as the hypocrisy displayed by some men regarding women’s bodies. According to her, many women are constantly ridiculed, mocked, and pressured about their natural appearance, which sometimes pushes them toward cosmetic procedures such as the Brazilian Butt Lift.

However, she pointed out that the same people who ridicule women for their natural bodies often turn around to shame them again after they choose to alter their appearance.

Reacting to the shift in tone following the tragic news about Elena Jessica, Nkechi noted that some men are now urging women to embrace their natural looks and avoid surgical enhancements. She highlighted the contradiction in these sudden messages of body positivity.

“Now men are saying women should love themselves and that we’re beautiful the way we are.

But the same men bvll¥ women, mock their bodies, and pressure them until they feel like the only option is to get a Be-Be-L. Then, when a woman finally does it, they turn around and shame her for it. Ladies, do whatever you think is right for your own body. It’s your choice, not theirs.”

The actress further clarified her own stance on cosmetic procedures. While she believes every woman has the right to make personal decisions about her body, she revealed that she has no interest in undergoing surgeries meant to reshape her figure.

According to her, the only procedure she might consider in the future would be weight-loss surgery if she ever felt the need for it. Nkechi emphasized that such a decision would be purely for health or personal reasons rather than to meet societal expectations about body shape.

Her comments have since fueled conversations online about body autonomy, societal pressure, and the need for people to respect women’s choices regarding their bodies.
