Nigerian actor Lateef Adedimeji is once again making waves in the entertainment industry, earning a remarkable five nominations for the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).


 The nominations were revealed on Sunday, highlighting Adedimeji’s growing influence and versatility as one of Nollywood’s most accomplished performers.


Among his nominations, Adedimeji is recognized for his outstanding work as Best Lead Actor. In addition, he received multiple nods in the Best Supporting Actor category, underlining his ability to excel across diverse roles.


 Notably, his performance in Lisabi has also earned a nomination for Best Indigenous Movie, while the film itself garnered recognition for Best Makeup, showcasing the high production value of his projects.


The 2026 AMVCA nominations list reflects a competitive year for Nollywood, with Daniel Etim-Effiong’s The Herd leading the pack with nine nominations across major and technical categories.

Emerging talent is also celebrated, as seen with Genoveva Umeh, who earned her first-ever Best Lead Actress nomination a significant milestone in her career that signals her rising prominence.


The AMVCA, organized annually by MultiChoice, is Africa’s premier celebration of television and film excellence.
