Media entrepreneur and storyteller, Chude Jideonwo, has stirred conversations online after claiming that many married men in Lagos are secretly gay.

The popular media personality made the remark while speaking during a recent appearance on The Clarity Zone Podcast, where he addressed speculations about his sexuality and also raised concerns about disturbing trends on social media.

Jideonwo explained that the rumours about him being gay began after one of his interviews with TVC Communications circulated online.

According to him, some viewers began to speculate about his sexual orientation, prompting him to respond publicly.

Reacting to the rumours, the media entrepreneur said such conversations do not bother him, noting that assumptions about people’s sexuality are common in society.

“When the TVC interview came out, people were saying maybe I’m gay. I’m like Lagos is full of married gay people,” he said during the discussion.

Although he did not elaborate on specific examples, the statement has since sparked debate on social media, with many people sharing different opinions about the comment and the broader conversation around sexuality in Nigeria.

During the podcast conversation, Jideonwo also expressed concern about what he described as the growing presence of ritual-related advertisements on social media platforms.

According to him, he has personally come across several individuals openly promoting spiritual or ritual services online, including on popular platforms such as TikTok.

He described the trend as disturbing and worrying, particularly because of the level of engagement such content appears to attract.

Jideonwo recounted one particular instance where a woman was reportedly broadcasting live from what appeared to be a shrine while promoting spiritual services.

“Abi them say people are advertising rituals on TikTok. Ritual is advertised on TikTok. Native medicine, I have seen three people advertising, and people are engaging,” he said.

The media figure noted that the most surprising aspect of the situation was the response from viewers.

According to him, many users actively asked for contact details and showed interest in the services being promoted.

“One of the women was live from her shrine. And people were like, ‘Mama, how can I reach you?’ with a phone number,” he added.

His comments have drawn mixed reactions online.

While some people agreed with his concerns about the rise of ritual content and questionable spiritual services being promoted on social media, others debated his claim about married gay individuals in Lagos.

Jideonwo, known for hosting thoughtful conversations through his media platform, frequently discusses social issues, culture and personal development.

His shows and interviews often explore complex topics affecting Nigerian society.

The latest remarks from the media entrepreneur have once again triggered widespread discussions across social media platforms, highlighting ongoing debates around sexuality, online content regulation, and the influence of social media in Nigeria.
