Popular Nigerian prophet, Prophet Ayodele, has stepped in to support gospel singer, Busola Oke, who recently revealed her struggles in the music industry.

The singer, who made headlines after announcing her intention to quit music due to mounting pressure, has been candid about the harsh realities of sustaining a career in gospel music.

In an emotional interview with Biola Bayo, Busola opened up about the challenges she faces daily, saying she broke down on live video because she felt “lonely, depressed, frustrated and hungry.” She emphasized that she hadn’t asked anyone for help, explaining, “I didn’t ask for help from people because that isn’t who I am.” She further revealed that she currently has no car, is indebted to several people, and struggles to pay N55,000 daily for her hotel accommodation.

Moved by her plight, Prophet Ayodele pledged to gift Busola N1 million, but he placed a single condition: she must visit his church today. “What is the name of that one that is crying on the Internet? Busola Eleyele, come to my church on Sunday, and I will give you N1million to support you. If you like, come; if you like, don’t come. If you come after Sunday, I will not attend to you,” he stated. The prophet was quick to clarify that his offer was not for showmanship: “I didn’t say you should come and sing for me, and I am not using this to impress anybody. I have passed the stage where I will be impressing anyone.”

Busola Oke’s honesty about the difficulties in the gospel music space has struck a chord with many Nigerians, highlighting the gap between talent and sustainable income in the industry.

With Prophet Ayodele’s generous intervention, there’s hope that the singer can find temporary relief and perhaps a path back to stability.
