Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka has broken his silence on the rape allegations made against him by his colleague, Princess, firmly denying any misconduct and claiming that he was set up.

In a candid interview, Baba Ijesha described the accusations as false and said Princess “knows she has betrayed everyone she has ever been friends with.” He maintained that he never pursued a romantic relationship with her.

“I never asked her out, never dated her, never hugged or kissed her. She cried to me the same way she’s crying now, saying she can’t do without me and my program. I won’t say what she didn’t say,” he explained.

The actor also addressed his strained relationship with Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo, revealing that he felt hurt after being doubted despite having cared for her children when they were younger.

“What hurt me about Iyabo Ojo is that she put Priscillia and her brother in my care when they were younger. Someone spoke about Iyabo and what she did, and I said, ‘Iyabo is my product, and I can’t ruin her.’ That is why Yomi Fabiyi is fighting so hard,” he said.

Baba Ijesha further claimed that Princess invited him to act in her house as part of a setup, and he described how he maintained a positive role among inmates during his prison stay.

“She told me to come and act. She said Lagos State gave her a series of productions. I made myself a prisoner’s ambassador. If it is true that I disvirgined this lady with a car key, let me die in prison. Prison is nobody’s mate,” he stated.

He also disclosed that comedian I Go Die introduced him to Princess and revealed personal details about his life, including losing twins with a former partner.

“A comedian, I Go, Dye, introduced Princess to me. Did she tell the world that she secretly arranged an introduction for me, and that I turned it down? After the wedding, you said you want to go to the UK for Masters. I bought the ticket and all. Unknown to me, it’s a planned work. I would have had twins, but she removed them,” he claimed.

Defending his integrity, Baba Ijesha emphasised that the public narrative does not reflect reality.

“I was destabilised. What’s my offence? What happened is different from what people are saying. I am not a paedophile. I am not a rapist. And I will never be. God only chose to bring me out,” he said.

Despite the controversy, the actor remains steadfast in proclaiming his innocence, insisting that he is committed to clearing his name as scrutiny continues to mount over the allegations.

This revelation adds another layer to an ongoing and highly publicised legal and social debate, highlighting the tension between personal narratives and public perception in Nollywood.
